Joy as Mlimani Primary School browse internet

MLIMANI Primary School pupils could barely contain their excitement on Monday as they browsed the internet during the launch of internet services at the school provided by Vodacom Foundation.
The foundation provided internet connection equipment’s to the school’s computer lab after it donated computers at the lab some three months ago. The pupils joined 5,000 others from Primary Schools and Secondary Schools in Dar es Salaam who have been accessing practical and visual lessons online through computers.
Vodacom Foundation in partnership with Samsung has been donating computers loaded with learning programmes since 2013 through the Smart Schools Programme. Smart School Program which launched in 2013 by Vodacom Foundation in partnership with Learning In Sync institution has already benefited students from several primary and Secondary Schools to get ICT knowledge.
Some of the lucky schools are Makumbusho, Kinyerezi, Mtakuja, Kambangwa in Dar es Salaam and Shimbwe Secondary school located in Uru Moshi. Speaking on behalf of other pupils, Martha Mtweve a standard six student at Mlimani Primary School thanked Vodacom Foundation for the support which will enhance their education and provide them with in-depth understanding of their studies.
The Head Teacher of Mlimani Primary School, Pendo Kujelwa thanked Vodacom Foundation for the support and promised to ensure pupils use the service effectively to access reference material from various educational programmes installed in computers.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Head of Vodacom Foundation, Renatus Rwehikiza said, “We continue to affirm our commitment to developing education in Tanzania through our network.
This programme improves the quality of education the students receives, connects them to the rest of the world and put them at par with their peers in other parts of the world.”
